Hello! I’m Dana and I’m from Oxford Mills, Canada where I live with my better half, Dean and our boys. Dean and I started out our renovation journey with an extremely outdated 1950’s bungalow, in desperate need of some love and attention. Old wiring, dated everything, and a bathroom that fell victim to the era of avocado green toilets and blue bathtubs! With no shortage of projects, I decided to start this blog, to document our challenges and celebrate our successes. Since then, our humble abode has become a perfect rental for a lovely family and we took on our biggest project of all, designing and building our dream home out in the country. It’s kind of nice not having to fix and replace everything before you get to the fun of decorating, but a newly built home presents it’s own challenges. Of course the bones and structure are already there (and everything works marvelously well, for now), but a finishing touch to give it character and to make it a home, is needed in every single room. Bit by bit, we’ll get there!
For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved interior design and decorating, and I couldn’t be more fortunate to have someone that loves to take any idea and make it come alive, with me. Dean is a builder at heart, “jack of all trades”, more patient than I could ever ask for, and always willing to start a new project with me.
I am forever looking for new ideas and learning about design as I go along, and building this website has been no different. I have much to learn about blogging, but I’m excited to see where it takes us, to see it grow and evolve, and I’m especially excited to have an archive of all our design adventures to share with anyone that might care to take a peak.
Thank you for being here and for following along, as we imagine, design and create Little Blossom Road!
Ciao!
